Get your gravy on this Thanksgiving at a number of Berkshire restaurants

Give thanks for easy eating this fall with a bountiful spread of Thanksgiving feasts prepared by several of the area’s restaurants, each of which honors its extended “family” of patrons on the holiday with special family-style dinners and buffets.

Celebrating the harvest, Route 7 Grill in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, serves a fully local spread of dishes featuring pork from Sheffield Foods Farm; turkeys from Plainville Farms; veggies, squash, beets, and potatoes from Taft Farms; greens from Farm Girl Farm, and apples from Windy Hill Farm.

The newly reopened Bascom Lodge, at the summit of Mount Greylock in Lanesborough, Massachusetts, and the always cozy, eclectic Dream Away Lodge in Becket, Massachusetts, will also serve up gourmet twists on Thanksgiving favorites.

What could be better than freshly roasted turkey, savory gravy, and spiced pumpkin pie? Not having to make any of it, or do the dishes. [NOV/DEC 2009]
