Getting Answers

Apropos of nothing, i'll start by saying that the word FEEDBACK reminds me of the Jim Carrey/bird mouth-to-mouth scene in Ace Ventura II: When Nature Calls. Random and juvenile, maybe, but not totally off topic...

If you've ever read the hard copy of Berkshire Living, you know that, like most magazines, we devote a page in each issue to reader comments. Only very occasionally do we include a public response from the editor (largely due to space restrictions, though we almost always respond in private, at least in the case of email).

So when I caught a glimpse of the suggestion board at the Wild Oats Market in Williamstown Mass., I backtracked. Not because it's in-your-face, flanking one end of the juice aisle in the middle of the store, but because it's a veritable dialogue between customer and staff. Every submission, it seems, is answered, from "Try to get Camembert cheese!" ("We [now] have a  local Camembert on special..."  or "Create a crosswalk in front of the store [across Route 2]" ("We will add this to our list of things to explore with the town") to the strictly complimentary, "Love the classic rock station!" ("We aim to please).

Wild Oats certainly earns its good vibes. While we can't quite create this kind of dialogue among our pages, we always love to hear what you're thinking--glowing praise, constructive critism, heck, even your green-faced gripes. So, uh, what do you have to say?
