An impressive accolade for the Williams College Museum of Art

For the fourth time, the Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) has earned an impressive accolade from the International Association of Art Critics (AICA-USA)—Best Show in a University Gallery—for Making It New: The Art and Style of Sara and Gerald Murphy [“The Art Couple” by Tresca Weinstein, July 2007].

Detailing the legendary life and style of the tastemakers at the center of a famed expat creative circle in the 1920s that included F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway, the interdisciplinary presentation curated by Deborah Rothschild—who organized two of WCMA’s three previously honored exhibitions—opened in Williamstown, Massachusetts, on July 8, 2007, and subsequently traveled to the Yale University Art Gallery and the Dallas Museum of Art, where it closed in September 2008.
