An online hub for holistic approaches to health by acupuncturist Teresa Goetz

Operating almost as a pared-down, less rigid WebMD for the spiritually minded, healthybeing is an online hub for holistic approaches to health. After relocating and then closing down her Millerton, New York-based wellness center this spring, acupuncturist Teresa Goetz decided to return to her early writing roots by anchoring her base on the web, allowing her to incorporate a newfound interest in blogging and to serve a broader community interested in alternative health care for women.

 

Goetz describes the focus of healthybeing as transcending traditional Chinese medicine to explore larger holistic paradigms. Tapping the creative and inspirational input of other local women, Goetz links to a trifecta of blogs focusing on the mind, body, and spirit, each of them offering guidance and motivation toward an interconnected mindset.

 

Furthering the connection between wellness and society, healthybeing also provides links and information about local events that promote community bonds. Stories, poems, artwork, photographs, recipes, and helpful hints from a network of various female collaborators help strengthen the community connection that Goetz embraced with her wellness center, while expanding it through the power and convenience of the Internet.
