Open Wide

With summer’s heat encroaching, nothing is more welcoming than open-air seating and a cool cocktail. Allium has both. The chic bar and eatery in the heart of Great Barrington, Mass., mixes locally sourced cuisine with creative cocktails, and when its garage-door façade is up, leaving the bar area open to the street, casual conversation with passersby flows as easily as the breeze.

The roster of cocktails includes rotating specials like the Saint Germain, which combines vodka, lime, and Rosado wine and is also available by the pitcher for sharing. An exceptional wine list features reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling options to complement a succinct selection of craft beers. An array of liquors including a collection of single-malt Scotches rounds out the bar, while full entrées and small plates such as marinated olives or artisanal cheeses round out the menu.
